OVEREEM: FROM CHICKEN SHED TO EUROPEAN HEAD OFFICE AND TECHNICAL MARKET LEADER IN ROLLFORMING
Overeem started out in 1921, in Scherpenzeel, as a forge. The blacksmith made horseshoes, cartwheel hoops, and stove parts. When it acquired its first profiling machine, it began making chain guards for bicycles. Later, it added decorative frames for mopeds and parts for cars. Overeem therefore evolved with the transport industry: from horse and cart, via bicycle, to mopeds and cars. Over the years, Overeem turned its focus to rollforming, because there was a demand for this technology. The company's in-house rollforming expertise has now earned it a strong reputation as a European supplier of thin-walled profiles. The forge in a shed in Scherpenzeel has become a large and modern complex on the De Kievitsmeent industrial park in Ede. Until 1988, Overeem was a family-owned company, after which it became part of Aalberts Industries. Since 2015, Overeem has belonged to the Hadley Group. This family, the technical market leader in rollforming, enables us to keep innovating and growing.
